About Me

I’m a Game Designer who likes prototyping and working in the engine! I am finishing my “Creative Media & Game Technologies” study at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS) after doing a Feature Design internship at Vertigo Games in Amsterdam. During this internship, I worked with Unreal Engine 5, designing and implementing prototypes using visual scripting (Blueprints). Besides that, I have been solo-developing a 1st-person, Arena Shooter built in Godot using GDScript, so I’m also experienced with text-based scripting!

What about Design?

As a designer, I’m deeply interested in UX principles to make my features engaging and accessible. After reading Don Norman’s “Design of Everyday Things”, the psychological knowledge impressed me and led me to study more about UX design applications for game designers. I thrive on the feedback of play testers to improve my features and aim to create a frustration free experience. I also appreciate feedback from my fellow developers, as there will always be opportunities to improve myself and learn within this industry.

What about the rest?

Besides a passion for video games that started with the Playstation 2, I enjoy listening to music ranging from Hip-Hop to Drum and Bass, watching anime, reading manga, running and have a huge list of movies that I need to finish.

I also enjoy reading books! Either drama/mystery novels (e.g. Lupin or Poirot), but also those about design.

I'm currently reading Celia Hodent's - "The Gamer's Brain: how neuroscience and UX can impact video game design"
